About

Good design starts with understanding people: how they do things today, and how they experience the world. Someone in a big city does things very differently from someone in a rural town. Travelling around the world changed how I see people, and taught me there's no black and white in human experience. So I design for how people would like to do things, including ways they haven't thought of yet. Listening to people is only the start. I watch the smallest details of how they live and work, and design within those details.
I started at a digital agency, designing for brands like Mountain Equipment Co-op, White Spot and BC Liquor Stores.
At iQmetrix, a retail software company, I went from intermediate designer to senior designer to director, with time as a product manager along the way. While I was there, I also taught UX and UI design at Capilano University, explaining design to people who were new to it.
Since then, I've built Nextsession, my own iPhone app, from the first conversations with business owners to launch, using AI agents and a design system in code.
I live in Vancouver, and I'm open to remote or hybrid work.
